“Save A Life, Pass The Keys!”
UDesignateMe.org was established to eliminate driving under the influence of alcohol; to educate youth and adults about responsible and safe driving; and to provide ways and means for the responsible and safe transport of people in social settings where alcohol is consumed.
Approximately 13,000 people are killed each year by drunk drivers, many of whom have illegal alcohol levels of .08 BAC and higher. As a result, each month nearly 1000 families are subjected to the catastrophic aftermath of drunk driving. Overall, since 1980, there has been a significant decline in alcohol related fatalities. However, there is still a considerable amount of progress to be made.
For that reason, UDesignateMe.org has set in motion the “Save A Life, Pass the Keys” Campaign as a critical force in the battle against drunk driving.
By way of the specific components listed in our pledge below, the campaign makes the concept of ridding the United States of one of its major health hazards a feasible reality. Collectively we can elevate the war against drunk driving to unparalleled heights. Please join others who have signed the pledge.

THE PLEDGE TO ELIMINATE DRUNK DRIVING
By joining our “Save A Life, Pass The Keys” Campaign, I pledge full support of the following:
· The use of a designated driver when going out to social events, clubs, bars, games, etc. where alcohol is being served.
· Increased DUI crackdowns during major holidays and enforcement efforts such as sobriety checkpoints and saturation patrols across the United States ;
· Use of breath alcohol ignition interlock devices, such as breathalyzers, to reduce the number of repeat offenders and future mandatory ignition interlock devices for convicted drunk drivers;
· Research and development of vehicle-based advanced technological devices which detect if drivers have illegal alcohol levels and subsequently prevent them from operating vehicles; and
· Public support from me as well as other concerned citizens led by
UDesignateMe.org, its affiliates and members.
